Through the Static

Through the Static is a short documentary about Tony Samara, a meditation teacher living in northern Germany, who has spent his entire life travelling the earth in search of answers to chaos and disharmony. Surrounded by a troubling world, he must draw on his experiences with Buddhism and shamanism to help others find peace within.

In today’s chaotic world, happiness is often confused with material wealth and a sense of comfort. Yet, the fast-paced, technological world cannot be ignored. If there is any hope for society to change on a large scale, it must embrace modernity. As he types on his iPad and makes television appearances, Tony leaves behind dogmas and instead focuses on practicalities. What Tony teaches is that there is no single set of answers to life’s problems — rather, every person must live in the present and look within themselves to find harmony.
