Authentic Heart 21 minute film by Rafael Stoneman

"Authentic Heart" is a spontaneous, unscripted travel around North America, to meet with people of all paths and cultures, and to connect in the timelessness of the eternal heart. All we need do is listen without any sense of separation to each voice we hear, and know that every sound rises out of one collective, authentic heart."

With a few thousand dollars and a video camera, Rafael Stoneman has produced a short film whose title, Authentic Heart, really captures the essence of this documentary. As you meet the various people he interviews, you can feel love and peace emanate from them as they share what it means to live from the awakened state, i.e., the present moment, rather than from the story in the head, which is the illusory world of past-future.

The whole film is great, and I am sure you will have your favorite parts. For me, there is a sequence from 4:04-5:10 that is just lovely. It's various people saying these things, but it doesn't matter since we are all One, and so I am just going to give their words as one running narrative:

Everyone of us is flowering out of pure consciousness, out of love. And the only reason we don't experience this is because there is some belief between us. The things that get in the way are beliefs... thinking, concepts, and ideas. Giving up the idea that the self one thinks it is is in need of anything more than just the eternal presence.

Letting go has been kind of my path. It's really been the way I work through things and the way I move forward. So that the way to get past what is holding me back is to let go. I was doing some letting go, and all of a sudden it was like who I was dropped away... and there was just silence there.

Lastly, Christine Wushke (who I know from facebook), shared the following (at the 8:40 mark) from such a heartfelt and authentic space, that it just stopped my mind dead in its tracks:

(after laughing) I have kind of lost interest in enlightenment. I would say my favorite practice is to say, 'I don't know.' To just stop in the moment and realize that I don't know what this moment is for. I don't know what this situation is for. And just dropping into the moment and dropping into that realm of unknown. When I stop and go into the 'I don't know' practice... its like everything can just drop away and be.

Also, the music, visuals, and even the pacing is just lovely.
